Gossip Girl premiers with scandal, intrigue

For those of you who are fans of CW's "Gossip Girl" you know what I'm talking about when I say the first two episodes of the fourth season were really quite a relief. After leaving viewers in suspense last season with Georgina Sparks showing up unexpectedly at Dan Humphrey's house pregnant, claiming the baby is his, Chuck Bass being shot, and Serena Van Der Woodsen and Blair Waldorf headed off to Paris, it left viewers hanging.
"Gossip Girl" sure doesn't miss a beat. The first episode of the new season opened with "S" and "B" in Paris enjoying themselves. Blair tries but fails to forget about Chuck, even after going on a date with a royal prince. Blair, in my opinion should forget about Chuck. I mean, for goodness sake, he slept with Dan's little sister Jenny Humphrey. Why in the world would she want to speak to him after that?
I was relieved to find that Chuck survived the shooting in Prague, but then he tries to run away from his past by reinventing himself. Poor Chuck. He never learns his lesson and just keeps making the same mistakes. When will he come to his senses and stop messing around?
Nate Archibald(cq) is dating around, still pining after the lovely Serena, but not for long. Nate, I feel, is way too trusting of his new flame, a conniving femme fatal. I can't believe he doesn't find it weird that all of a sudden she shows up and wants to help him win Serena back. How naive can he get?
Then there's Georgina. I believe Georgina is back to her old scheming ways after taking a phone call while speaking in a foreign language. I must admit I am a little tired of her annoying character finding her way back into new episodes. I knew from the minute she came back she was up to no good. Why do most of the characters fall for her malicious acts? You would think they would know by now what to expect from her. In my opinion I think it's time for a new character.
The second episode, which aired Monday, held a lot of mystery as Chuck is spotted walking along the streets of France. The question still lingers in the air of whether or not Dan is really the father of Georgina's baby. I find that whole situation rather strange because Dan so readily accepts that the child is his and doesn't ask many questions. It made me so mad when he signed the birth certificate papers so willingly. What is wrong with that guy?
Then the show takes a turn as Serena discovers why Chuck was shot – over an engagement ring that was meant for Blair. When is Blair ever going to make a decision about Chuck? She needs to hurry up make up her mind. Oh, the woes of being in love.
Then when Serena returns back to The Big Apple, I found it interesting she didn't even look remotely surprised that Dan had a baby.
The characters could have done a better job acting, and questions still remain.
Looks like we'll have to wait until next time. As they say in France, Au revoir!

Gossip Girl : Reel to Real life couples

Ok.. this is my favorite part..

It's no surprise when actors fall in love while working closely together on set. Look at Bogie and Bacall, Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson and Bennifer.. it's safe to assume the same would happen to a cast of young, ridiculously good-looking people like those from Gossip Girl. The long hours, close quarters and buttoned-up cashmere cardigans would make anyone go crazy, right? But in this case, Cupid has been working overtime to turn GG's romances from reel to real life. Let's take a look at the misses and matches:

* Penn Badgley and Blake Lively:

Penn and Blake have known each other since they were 11-years-old, but the sparks didn’t fly until they began working on Gossip Girl in 2007. They’ve remain one of the most solid couples in Young Hollywood and often keep a low profile. Lucky for them, their on-screen character’s off-and-on romance has been a continuing storyline for Gossip Girl. While their GG relationship is back off, their Leighton Meester Sebastian Stan Gossip Girlon-screen love remains strong.

* Leighton Meester and Sebastian Stan:

While some believe Leighton fell for Sebastian after his first season guest appearance on Gossip Girl, it was actually co-star Chace Crawford who played Cupid for the couple. Together since last year, Leighton and Sebastian took their love on-screen in this past week’s episode where Sebastian’s bad boy character Carter Baizen tempts Blaire over to the dark side. Leighton gushes, "He reminds me of Ray Liotta."

* Chace Crawford and Taylor Momsen:

While their romance didn't last long, Chace and Taylor were another couple who's relationship went from reel to real. Despite their eight year age difference, rumors spread like wild fire when gossip sites caught Chace and Taylor smooching at a number of places in New York City. But that was short-lived. Whether or not the rumors were true, Chace and Taylor remain to be two of the last single people on the GG cast. That's good news for the ladies!

* Jessica Szohr and Ed Westwick:

The latest Gossip Girl romance to stun fans (and disappoint women) is that of Jessica and Ed. The two were first outed as a couple when Jessica and Ed were seen spending Thanksgiving weekend together. They have since become attached at the hip, whether it's at a Knicks game or trips to Miami.
